Crew Chief

Job Description:

Major responsibilities:

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

The Crew Chief is largely responsible for operation of field instruments, collection of field data and calculations necessary to perform various field surveys including boundary, topographic and construction surveys.

Collecting field data for boundary and topographic surveys, perform computations during field survey activities, convert limited verbal and written directions from Principal Surveyor to obtain field survey data, maintains survey instruments and performs minor adjustments, performs analysis and back checking for accuracy of collected data, maintains records of daily survey activities including sketches and other forms of field notes in accordance with company policies, directs instrument person to carryout daily activities in an efficient and safe manner, assists in education and development of instrument person.

A minimum of 2 years of experience is required
The successful candidates and must have a valid Washington State Driver’s license
Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check and have a safe driving record

Instrument Person/Chainman

Job Description:

Major responsibilities:

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Instrument person / chainman is largely responsible for assisting the Crew Chief with measuring angles, distances and elevations during daily activities including boundary, topographic and construction surveys.

Utilizing various survey instruments and tools to perform field survey tasks, installs stakes, hubs, bars and other materials as directed by Crew Chief, cut vegetation with hand tools as directed by Crew Chief, installs traffic control as necessary to perform survey activities in a safe environment, monitors and replenishes field supplies for assigned crew and informs appropriate staff of any deficiencies, schedules and coordinates maintenance of crew rig including – regular maintenance, tires, washing, etc., and maintains log of vehicle maintenance, places survey control monuments from positions established by field crew.

Surveying experience is a plus 
The successful candidates and must have a valid Washington State Driver’s license
Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check and have a safe driving record

Our Civil Engineer’s provide design and project management on projects for both public and private roadways, utilities and site development.  They work closely with Project Managers on several projects simultaneously that include grading, utility, roadway and drainage designs and often must visit the site to walk and photograph the project site.  



This is a great internship opportunity for currently enrolled engineering students who want to observe and participate in real world application of their current field of study. This opportunity will allow students to gain valuable experience in the practical application of engineering procedures, concepts, and techniques in an on-the-job environment.


Our Land Surveying Technician’s work under the direct supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor and assist the survey department in the preparation of detailed survey related documents, including preliminary and final plats, records of surveys, topographic mapping and boundary analysis. 




Our Project Surveyor is largely responsible for project research, computations, and preparation of drawings related survey activities. Our Crew Chief is largely responsible for operation of field instruments, collection of field data and calculations necessary to perform various field surveys including boundary, topographic and construction surveys. Our Instrument Person/Chainman position assists the Crew Chief with measuring angles, distances and elevations during daily activities including boundary, topographic and construction surveys.

Our AutoCAD Drafter’s are responsible for providing computer aided drafting support such as creating or editing working drawings, design sketches, presentation drawings, diagrams, and other documents from prepared drawings or sketches. They work closely with our Civil Engineers converting limited verbal and written directions into a finished product.
